A twofer and then catching up

Oh, I'm behind again...

May 6th's challenge was a picture of me and May 7th's was 'someone who inspires me' so I'm cheating a bit here. This is me on the right with my family who inspires me to be a better person every day.

Oh, and another cheat...this picture was taken on April 29th when my son made his First Communion.

I will be back later with today's challenge...a 'smell I love'. Too bad I already drank my coffee.

FUN! and a bird

Okay...sneaking in a bit of time here to post my photo challenge pictures.

Yesterday's May 4th challenge was 'FUN!'. Well, my son and his friends had plenty of that during an afternoon together. Out of respect for the other parents wishes when it comes to posting pictures of the kids online I have taken a picture of the aftermath of 'FUN!'. All of which is still there and will remain there until my husband caves in and cleans them up himself.

And today's challenge was 'bird'. I happened to bring my camera with me when we visited the new Lego store at the mall (did you notice how much of my life is influenced by these little, plastic foot- stabbers?) I took a picture of my son and as we left the mall I was still trying to find a way to get a good picture of a bird. Then my son wanted to see his picture and let out a loud HONK! and there is was...the T-shirt from his school play he participated in last night based on 'The Ugly Duckling'. Honk! says the bird.

Something I wore today

Today's photo challenge was something that I wore today. So on this wet and dreary day I wore my rubber boots. There are surprisingly comfortable and I know we need the rain quite badly but I'm really hoping to see the sun again very soon.

Skyline

Today's photo challenge was the skyline. It wasn't a good day for me to take pictures, just too busy but I did manage to squeeze off this shot while driving home from my kids' activities. This is in Danvers over the river just as the storm that has been hovering over us the past couple of days started to let us see some sky.

Later, I spent time at my daughter's school for the Academic Awards ceremony. She earned recognition for her participation on the poetry slam team. Earlier this spring they competed in a first-ever statewide slam and the school placed fourth over-all.  Congratulations to all!

Photo challenge and a finished project

I decided to jump in to the Photo A Day Challenge. Today's subject is 'peace'. My son was quietly playing with his Legos when I decided to shoot that peaceful moment. He realized I had my camera and decided to give me the peace sign. How appropriate?

And here is my completed adult bib I made for my Mom. I think I finally have it just right, pocket and all. I started with a simple baby bib pattern found here http://www.sugarncream.com/pattern.php?PID=4053 and expanded it and added the pocket. It is perfect for elder care and messy lobster dinners.
